Temperature Rise Calculation
Step1: Make an excel sheet and write down equipment list then from the manual find the dissipated power. E.g. : for Flex io – 1794-AENT search for Power consumption and in the document Power Dissipation,
Max is shown as 7.3W.
BTU or British Termal Unit: BTU/hr is measure of the thermal or heat energy generated per hour and is a measured to used specify air conditioners. The formula for calculating BTU/hr is: Heat Dissipation (Watts) x 3.4192 = BTU/Hr. So if a server has a heat dissipation (output) of 7.3 Watts the thermal or heat energy generated is 24.92 BTU/hr.
Proclima Schnider
Now Open Proclima software. It is an Schneider electric software and according to their website ProClima software processes a range of specified thermal data in order to propose the right thermal management choice to match the environment and electrical/electronic devices installed inside your control panel. ProClima software takes into account variables such as:
Temperature
Humidity
Sun radiation
Indoor or outdoor settings
The program draws up a heat balance and defines the best ventilation, control, heating and cooling functions to match your installed equipment, with ProClima optimize your thermal management solution in order to minimize under- or over-sizing errors.

At first page it is just general information about the project, in rated voltage of the control system use input voltage
Enclosure:

At this section we want to find out the heat would be dissipated from which sides of the cabinet. 2 sides and back of the cabinet is our main concern
Click on Other enclosures to enter your own dimension and material
Note that If there are dividers in the panel then we need to assume that each section of the panel is a separate part
Temperature section is about the environment. The best place to find some information like Height above sea level and humidity is Internet!
E.g for Height is https://whatismyelevation.com/
Also we need to find the working temperature for the most sensitive part which is mostly electronic device like PLC search for “Environmental Specifications” in this section, as a rule of thump 50 C is a safe number

At the Dissipated Power Section put the number you found on step 1

Thermal Solution:
This is the final section and we want to select the Solution which could be Just a fan or cooling unit etc.
At this section we can see the Warning too

Review:
At this section we can see requested cooling no and selecting the fan is based on this number

IPD is a sample company for ordering fan
The attached document is a system manual on integration of SINAMICS S120 Booksize and SIMODRIVE drive systems into control cabinets.
